Incense, Rose Flower Aroma

Incense is a gum, spice, or other substance that is burned for the sweet smell it produces. Incense (livani) is traditional religious incense used in the Greek Orthodox home or church censers. It must be used with the appropriate charcoal which is sold separately. Livani is a tear of sap that comes from the livani tree. It is then covered with an aromatic rose perfume. Once hardened, the livani is used as an incense that is burned over charcoal (karvouna) and gives off an amazing aroma.
